Hey guys! My name is Andrea Sanchez and I’m a sophomore here at Loyola University Chicago. I am from El Salvador, I been in Chicago for almost two years and in that time, I have been able to broaden my culinary horizons.
One of the things that I love about going to school in Chicago is the diversity of the city. Chicago is home to more than 200 neighborhoods where you are able to find and enjoy different cultures through their cuisines.
Some of the most well known neighborhoods are Little Italy, Chinatown and Greek town. These neighborhoods give the opportunity to explore Chicago and enjoy great cuisines. Maybe right now the weather can stop you from going far from campus well is that’s the case, both campuses have a variety of restaurants nearby. For example if you are in Lakeshore or in Water Tower campus and you are craving for a Chicago’s signature dish such as Dip Dish Pizza, you can enjoy it, at Giordiano’s Pizzeria which is conveniently located in both campuses.
Also if you are willing to try something new or you are craving Greek, Indian or Asian food both campus have a numerous of restaurants near by.
If you happen to be at lakeshore campus here is a list of a few restaurants you should try:
-Ann Sather (brunch)
They have the best cinnamon rolls!
-Bop N Grill
Is a Korean infusion restaurant. You should try their kimchi fries.
– Moody’s Pub
If you want a good burger.
– Nori Sushi
Is a great place to have sushi!
And if you happen to be at Water Tower campus you have the opportunity to explore downtown Chicago. Which has one of the best restaurants in the city!
Some of the restaurants that are near campus and you should try are:
-Bar Toma
Has delicious Italian food!
-Bistromatic
If you are willing to try traditional French food with a twist!
-NoMI
Named by Daily Meal one of the “101 Best Hotel Restaurants Around the World”
I hope you go and try these restaurants and I encourage you to keep exploring the amazing city of Chicago.
